1st box – Clipboard section

This section is used to cut/copy/paste the content written/inserted in the document. So you will have to select some part to use these options. ( shift + arrow keys to select the letters ).
Paste has some further options to customize pasting. There is also an option of Format Painter. Select some part or a word in which you set particular color, , font style or other properties. Now click format printer , It will be highlighted after you select it. Not click where you want words with same properties you selected earlier. You will see something like brush on the screen, and now select the part you want to be painted/formatted in the properties of the word you selected earlier . Click anywhere when new words are highlighted. Hope you understood how to use it.

2nd box – Font section

1. Clipboard -
     The number 1 you see in the figure you can see its coming from drop down menu with font style name and font size. With it you can choose the font style you wish and select font size as you wish to set. Size can also be written in decimals i.e. 2.5, 10.5 etc.
below that there are three signs ,



  • B is used to bold letters , (ctrl + B)
  • I is used to italic the letters , (ctrl + I)
  • U is used to underline the letters , (ctrl + U)  {same shortcuts are used to remove the effect if already made} 2. strike through and subscripts ,
          To use them in shown format, write the word, select all and click these buttons, 1st one is for making a line which will cut the words i.e strike through. and rest two are used to set text in small size up or down, select the letter only and click the buttons. Shortcuts are x  - ‘ctrl + =’ , x2  - “ctrl + shift + =’ and abc  ‘alt + h + 4’ ( very quickly, less than 1 second).
    3. Text Effects and Typography ,
          In this field we can set outline, shadow, reflection, glow and text and number styles with desired colour. Just select the text and start .
    There is an option of ligature ( what is ligature ) , sometimes you need to enable ligatures before using it. To enable it – Click here to see how to enable ligatures in windows.
    4. Increase and Decrease Font ,
        Select text and ‘ Ctrl + [ ' and ‘ Ctrl + ] ’
    5. Highlight Text
         Select text and ‘ Ctrl + Alt + H "
    6. Change case
         Change uppercase , lower case, first letter uppercase etc.
    7. Text Colour
          Select colour for your text.
    8. Text Formatting
          This option is to set default format again of the customized text/fonts. (clearing all customizations) .
    9. Alignment
          With these options we can set alignment for the selected words/content
    • Left – Ctrl + L
    • Right – Ctrl + R
    • Centre – Ctrl + E
    • Justify – Ctrl + J
    10. Lists
           Used to make lists, example – we have to make a list of Apple, Book , Cat ; First we will write them in list style (using entre instead of space bar)

    Cat
    bullet – we will select all three words and click the first icon in no.10 section (shown in figure). it will be -
    • Apple
    • Book
    • Cat
    numbering – list will be shown by serial numbers

    multilevel -  In this section you can use many levels , arrange list according to headings and customize list with different options , Using Headings we will learn in next Box of Home Tab.
    clicking Define new multilevel list, we can arrange formatting, indent size and many more.
    11. Line and Paragraph Spacing
          Using this we can set the space between two or more lines or paragraphs.
    12. Decrease and Increase Indent
          Used to move text/paragraph closer and farther from the margin . Select the part of your document and click them. Shortcut is Ctrl+M / Ctrl+Shift+M
    13.  Shading
          Used to change the colour of selected font, line or paragraph.
    14. Sorting
          Used to sort the paragraphs or headings by date, time and numbers (Ascending and Descending order). Select two or more paragraph/ heading and click this icon and fill options.
    15. Border
          Used to create borders and customize them.
    16. You can see a sign here, if you click here then this sign will be attached with each paragraph of the document. This is paragraph mark and only and especially used in special layout tasks.

    3rd box – Html Section

    17. Html styles
         Set of Heading layout/styles are there, these styles are created to arrange/manage collection of all different headings of the entire document. like heading1 will be written on the top and then heading2 and then so on. Helpful to create table of content. Styles can be created and customized in settings by clicking an style and doing right click.

    4th box – Editing section

    18. Find a word (ctrl + F) , replace a word with other (ctrl + H ) without selecting any text and Selecting words are done here.
